A simple way to support artists directly

The Micro-Grant Initiative was created to provide small but meaningful support to emerging creatives who are building, experimenting, and continuing their work, even when resources are limited. After hours of research looking for grants to support my creative business, I noticed a gap and decided to start my own.

My goal is to make this opportunity simple, accessible, and community-supported. These grants are designed to help artists cover supplies, support an idea, or take the next step in their creative journey.

To begin, I am personally contributing $100 to fund the first grant.

Our first grant recipient is a multidisciplinary artist exploring emotional expression and mental health through digital art, drawing, and painting. Her work transforms personal experiences into visual storytelling that offers comfort, recognition, and connection.

She is currently developing a mental health-focused activity book designed to help individuals process emotions and navigate everyday challenges through art. You can find her on Instagram @herxskape.

Meet Simone Agoussoye, our April Grant Recipient. →

Our April grant recipient is Washington, D.C.–born artist Simone Agoussoye creates portraiture that exists at the intersection of realism and reverence. For over a decade, she has explored the depths of human identity through paint, glass, and texture; rendering faces not merely as likenesses, but as living reflections of spirit, beauty, and strength. The Micro grant is going to directly support her expansion in her practice.

Why give?

  • Make A Difference

Creative work often requires people to keep going before they have full support, full resources, or financial stability. Small amounts can make a real difference, whether that means buying materials, testing an idea, or simply easing a barrier that would otherwise slow someone down.

  • Support A Cause You Love

Give back to something that aligns with your values and passions.

  • Be Part of A Solution

Join a community of people working together to address important issues.

  • Create Lasting Impact

Your contribution helps build long-term solutions, not just quick fixes.

  • Fund Grassroots Work

Support local, hands-on efforts that make a difference where it matters most.

  • Inspire Others

Your generosity can motivate friends, family, and colleagues to do the same.

A commitment to transparency

Transparency is an important part of this initiative.

I will be open about:

  • how much is received

  • how funds are allocated

  • when grants are awarded

  • how this initiative grows over time

The goal is not just to raise money, but to build trust and make sure supporters can clearly see how their contributions are being used.
