A wearable extension of Bran Cherie’s Metamorphosis collection, this black cotton tote features Courage, an original acrylic and gold leaf painting from the 2026 collection. Inspired by the bold colors and patterns caterpillars use to mimic predators, the work explores courage as the decision to move forward even when transformation requires us to confront uncertainty.

Drawing from tiger, cheetah, and leopard markings, Courage reflects the strength we sometimes embody before we fully recognize it within ourselves. The design serves as a reminder that becoming requires both vulnerability and the courage to continue.

Bran Cherie, 1992

Bran is a Los Angeles–raised, mixed-media artist now based in the Washington, DC area. Her work explores identity, transformation, connection, and the human desire to be seen and understood. Working primarily through figurative painting, Cherie combines acrylic and oil with materials such as gold leaf, modeling paste, and other tactile elements to create works that move between realism, symbolism, and abstraction.

Rooted in personal experience while reaching toward shared human themes, Cherie’s practice considers the emotional and psychological spaces between who we have been, who we are, and who we are becoming. Her paintings examine vulnerability, resilience, belonging, love, loss, and the relationships that shape our sense of self. Through recurring symbolism and layered visual narratives, her work invites viewers to recognize aspects of their own experiences within those of another.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Cherie developed her artistic practice while living and working across the United States and abroad before transitioning to art full time. Her work has been presented through solo exhibitions, commissions, community partnerships, and public programming throughout the Washington, DC region and beyond.
